English Language Support (ELS)

What is ELS?

ELS stands for English Language Support and is a specialized programme that offers leveled English lessons to your child out of their normal classroom.

Why should my child do this ELS?

ELS is here to support your child at PBISS. Without English students will not get the most out of their time here at our school.

How long will my child be in ELS?

Each child learns at their own pace. The aim of ELS is to get students achieving mainstream classes as soon as possible.

Why should I pay extra for ELS?

PBISS hires specialized teachers to offer this course for our students. With this specialized additional service comes some extra costs. This course comes with specific support making it a worthwhile investment in your child’s long term success.

How do the tiers work?

Tier 3 students are those that require the most support.

When will the classes take place?

If possible the classes will take place during the school day but for some tiers there may be additional classes offered either before 9am or after the end of school. The scheduling of the lessons cannot take into account an individual student's timetable due to the number of students and classes that take place throughout the day.

What if I don’t want to pay for ELS?

If your child has been assessed and placed into ELS then the course is compulsory. The fee will be treated like any tuition fee.
